Kaylee Kruzan

Therapist

Kaylee Kruzan (she/her), LSW, Ph.D., RYT 200, is a social worker with a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. She has experience in private and community practice settings, working with clients at different life stages from adolescence through adulthood. Her primary practice areas include self-injury, mood and anxiety disorders, and substance use. She also enjoys supporting clients navigating life transitions and relationship dynamics, as well as those pursuing a more value-aligned lifestyle.

Kaylee’s therapeutic approach is holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered. She draws inspiration from many different treatment models (e.g., somatic or mind/body, cognitive-behavioral, integrated family systems) and applies them to best support clients’ goals. She believes it is the therapist’s role to create a safe, open space for clients to show up as they are and to support them in exploring their needs, confronting challenges, and learning and practicing new ways of responding to those challenges. As such, curiosity, compassion, and honesty are central to therapeutic success. She is 2SLGBTQIA-affirming, sex positive, and poly/ENM affirming.

In addition to her work at Head/Heart, Kaylee is a professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She leads a research program focused on designing and evaluating scalable digital mental health interventions, with the goal of making mental health resources more accessible to adolescents and young adults who self-injure or experience suicidality. She received a MA in Communication from University of Illinois at Chicago and a PhD in Communication from Cornell University.

Outside of therapy and research, Kaylee finds balance in being outdoors, listening to live music, and being with her family.
