Internship Application

Head Heart Therapy happily welcomes masters-level counseling and social work student interns who are hoping to gain experience in an outpatient group psychotherapy setting. Interns will accumulate a caseload (the number of clients will vary) over the course of their time at HHT and will work closely with their clinical supervisor to receive training and support to build their clinical skills. Interns will meet with their supervisor each week for one hour, during which time they are invited to conceptualize their cases and bring curiosity and openness to the learning process. Interns will also join the entire HHT team in monthly group supervision and will be asked to present a case during their internship. Additionally, interns will join HHT’s monthly administrative meetings and monthly liberation meetings—a space within which the team discusses a topic related to HHT’s commitment to working from a social justice-oriented lens.

Head Heart Therapy embraces slowing down in the internship process, and ideal candidates are willing to sit with and tend to the sensations that may show up for them while beginning to meet with clients. We are looking for interns who embody our HHT values and are hungry for continuous growth and participation in their own healing work.
