FAQ’S

Can my family or a small group participate together?2018-12-05T19:41:35-06:00

Yes! Intensive work in groups is an amazing chance to heal together and learn from one another’s work.

Does insurance cover an intensive retreat?2021-08-10T16:36:46-05:00

Unfortunately, current insurance policies do not cover intensive retreats. As all services are completely individualized, fees may vary, and service costs range from $100-$200 per hour depending on the length of time and preparatory work involved in your retreat. We will present you with estimated costs and options upon completing your assessment.

Will all my problems be solved after this intensive?2018-12-31T21:02:02-06:00

Like all therapy work, there are no miracle cures or quick fixes. Intensive experiential work is a unique modality that works from the bottom up (through movements, sensations and experiences) versus top down (examining thoughts and emotions), and the duration of time spent working with a therapist often enables a client to move deeper and more quickly than they are able in once-weekly therapy. Clients often find this type of treatment accelerates their recovery process and deeper healing.

How long is this intensive retreat?2021-08-10T16:39:45-05:00

As intensive retreat services are completely individualized, the exact duration and length of your intensive retreat may vary. The minimum amount of time required for an intensive retreat is 4 hours, and the therapist will discuss the recommended timing and duration after reviewing your assessment. Together, you and your therapist will tailor the intensive to support your goals for the personal work.

Will this replace individual therapy?2018-12-31T21:03:00-06:00

Intensive retreats are a complement to individual therapy. In fact, we require that you’re currently working with a primary therapist in order to complete an intensive retreat, as individual therapy will reinforce our work together. We’ll also ask you to sign a release of information so we may coordinate care with your current therapist and share our clinical perspective.

How do I know if I might benefit from an intensive retreat?2018-12-31T21:03:27-06:00

The decision to engage in an intensive retreat is up to you and your care team. If you feel stuck or stagnant in individual therapy, or if you’ve been attending therapy for a long time and need something more, an intensive retreat may be a good fit for you.
